Description of Leagues

For the 2014-2015 FTC Season, the FTC program in Iowa will be implementing League play.

Each league will consist of 10-12 teams.
Teams will be assigned to leagues around Sept. 15, 2014.
Once leagues are established -and teams are assigned to the league - changes/ edits /modifications cannot be made.
Each league will have a league administrator team.

The leagues will play in meets.

Each meet will consist of five matches.
Meets will include Hardware, Software & Field Inspections. An example of a meet schedule.
Meets will last approximately 4-5 hours (including set-up & break-down) It will be less the more volunteers to help with set-up & break-down.
Each league will host 3 meets. (Each team will compete in 15 matches before the League Championship.) An example of a meet schedule.
Hosting meets is the responsibility of all of the teams in the league. Teams can provide a venue, field elements, volunteers, etc.

Each team will also participate in a League Championship. This event is similar to a qualifier event in such that full inspections will be conducted, judges interviews will be made, qualifying matches, alliance selection, elimination matches and an awards ceremony will be at the conclusion of the event.
